The Premier Debate Today team is proud to announce the addition of two new assistant editors: Adam Tomasi and Salim Damerdji.
Adam Tomasi is a senior at Sacred Heart High School (MA) this year. He’s cleared at the TOC the previous two years. His junior year, Adam competed at the Collegiate Round Robin, Valley Round Robin, Voices Round Robin, Bronx Round Robin, Sunvitational Round, Robin, Lexington Round Robin, Harvard Round Robin and Harrison Round Robin. Outside of debate he freestyle raps and is an aspiring history major.
Salim Damerdji debated for four years at Los Altos High School (CA). He advanced to finals of Golden Desert, semis of Berkeley, and quarters of Stanford. During his senior year, Salim made it to TOC elims and placed as 11th speaker. He now coaches MVLA and Mission San Jose.
We asked both Adam and Salim why they joined us at PDT.
Adam: I joined PDT because I want to take part in the process of helping out other debaters in the community as those who have graduated have done for me. It’ll be a great opportunity to present perspectives on debate and have fun in the process!
Salim: I wanted to be a part of PDT because it’s honestly run by people who contribute to and seriously care about discussions in debate. Helping PDT means lowering the learning curve for novices. And it also means facilitating open, educational discussion for an activity that’s meant a tremendous amount to me.
